Police take action against sale of illegal weapons and fake permits in Karachi

Karachi Police have taken action against the large scale sale and purchase of weapons on fake licenses in the city. A committee has been formed for the investigation.

According to the details, large scale fake arms licenses and arms buying and selling have been exposed in Karachi. The Additional IG has set up a commission of inquiry. An official notification has been released.

The police investigation team includes Captain Faizan of SP Baldia and SP Investigation Kemari. The committee will investigate dealers who fabricate fake licenses and sell guns on them. Licensing records will be reviewed.

The investigative team verifies gun licenses issued from 2012 to 2020. Police said not only were fake licenses made in the thousands, but guns were also sold.

Officials said the process of confiscating fake licenses and weapons was initiated by calling license holders. Complaints have been received regarding the South, East and West Korangi licenses.

Note that previously there were 10 clashes between the police and robbers in Karachi, a robber was killed in the exchange of fire while 16 robbers including 11 injured were arrested. 10 cell phones and 6 motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the accused.

18 illegal weapons, 10 mobile phones and 6 motorbikes have been recovered from 16 suspects arrested this month in Karachi, while the recovered weapons have been sent for forensics. An investigation has been opened with the arrested defendants.
