Boon Siew Honda Malaysia updates 2022 small bike price list from RM4,312 to RM12,999

For 2022, Boon Siew Honda Malaysia has updated its price list for small motorcycles and scooters. The price list is effective March 11, 2022 and applies to recommended retail prices, excluding road tax, insurance and registration, while a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects is included.

Boon Siew Honda defines the small motorcycle category as two-wheelers under 250cc and currently includes twelve models in the catalog. For the evergreen Honda EX5 Limited Edition, the retail price is RM5,198, while the cheapest Honda two-wheeler in Malaysia is the Wave Alpha at RM4,312 – reduced from the 2020 price of 4,339 RM – for the spoke wheel model with the cast alloy wheel version has no price change to RM4,589.

Moving up the displacement range we have the Dash 125 twin disc and Repsol versions kapchai, priced at RM6,299 and RM6,499, respectively. This is unchanged from the Dash 125’s 2018 launch price.

Coming to two-range trim kapchai machines in Boon Siew Honda’s catalog we have the RS150R and the recently launched RS-X. This supercub duo is priced at RM8,299 (2016 launch price RM8,213.94) and RM9,550, respectively.

Moving on to Boon Siew’s range of scooters, we have the RM5,765 Honda BeAT and the RM7,499 Vario. At launch in late 2020, the updated BeAT with larger fuel tank was priced at RM5,555, while the Vario was tagged at RM7,199 at launch in 2018.

Boon Siew Honda’s 2022 Malaysian small bike lineup is rounded out with the ADV150 adventure scooter and CBR150R sport bike. The ADV150 is priced at RM11,999 while the CBR150R is priced at RM12,999, an increase of RM500 from the launch price of RM12,499.

If you haven’t heard of the MV Agusta, you wouldn’t be alone. They are not super popular. The company has grown in recent years, but they are still rare to see on the streets. There are likely reasons for this, some of which will be discussed later.

Since MV Agusta is not very well known in the general motorcycling community, we wanted to provide an overview of the company.

“One’s waste is another’s treasure,” goes the old saying. In the world of vintage motorcycles, what is trash and what is treasure can be in the eye of the beholder. And it goes without saying that this can have a huge impact on the asking price.

Fortunately, for those of us who are not only interested in vintage motorcycles of almost any brand and country of origin, there is a source of information on how to determine what is waste and what who is a treasure and how much it can be worth.

The complete vintage motorcycle price guide, 2020-2021 edition, which is compiled by the Motorcycle and Model Railroad Museum of Wisconsin, is this resource.

We told you about a previous edition of the book in 2016, which covered model years 1901 to 1996. It included data on 70 brands from around the world, covered in 240 pages.

The latest edition is enhanced with a cover of 91 brands (including some scooters), vintage from 1901 to 1999 in a handy 432 page paperback.

The book includes a fascinating section called “Price Mart Showroom”, where information on sales and price trends in motorcycle categories is offered to help potential collectors / investors know where the best investments are. The book says its sales and status data comes from more than 400 contributors around the world, including brand experts and bike show judges. Price data is based on actual selling prices, auction results, trade and internet sales information.

It includes a very useful section on the six conditions or grade levels used to assess the relative worth of the condition. Here is an example of how it can be used to help a buyer or seller determine the right price range for a given bike:
