logo-3-e1633446435798-2-3 Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ola Electric today announced a price increase for its S1 Pro scooter in the Indian market. Ola opened the buy window for the third time which revealed the rising price. Now, the new price of Ola S1 Pro electric scooter is Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The e-scooter is now more expensive by Rs 10,000. Launched at a price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) in 2021, the Ola S1 Pro received a price hike for the first time. The purchase window opened by the electric vehicle manufacturer will remain open on weekends. Moreover, the brand has already started the test camps in five cities of the country. It has a top speed of 115 km/h and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, according to the company’s claims. Recently, Ola Electric became India’s number one electric two-wheeler manufacturer in just 5 months, thanks to the strong sales of the Ola S1 Pro. However, the electric vehicle maker has issued a recall of around 1,441 units due to the e-scooter fire in Pune.

Soaring gas prices add to the woes of delivery agents; many quit

With the cost of petrol crossing the ₹100 mark, it is becoming increasingly difficult for those involved in the delivery of food and other goods

Representative image.

Rising fuel prices have worried thousands of delivery agents across India. With the rising cost of petrol and crossing the ₹100 mark, it is becoming more and more difficult for those delivering food and other goods.

Delivery partners are struggling to take care of their families and many have quit. They estimate that fuel prices will rise further in the coming months due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

Last year, online food delivery platform Zomato increased wages by 7-8% for delivery partners to cover rising fuel costs. “This new compensation structure is designed to automatically adjust to any future changes in fuel prices,” the company said in February 2021.

However, there has been no such decision so far from Zomato. And many food delivery executives are waiting for salary reviews to cover rising gas costs.

On Thursday, May 19, the price of a liter of petrol was ₹105.41 in Delhi while it was ₹120.51 in Mumbai. In Chennai the cost of petrol per liter was ₹110.85 and in Kolkata it was ₹115.12. It was ₹111.09 in Bangalore.

With high gas prices, some quit their delivery jobs. This has resulted in food delivery aggregators struggling with runner shortages, a mint says the report.

“Working in an air-conditioned showroom, even for many hours, is not the same as walking around town in the heat for six days a week. The fuel bills went up and the money wasn’t worth the hours we had to work as delivery people. I may not earn much more now but I am happier and healthier,” said Md. Annu, 28, who left Zomato two months ago and joined an electronics store in Hyderabad, quoted in the report.

“There was a guaranteed minimum payment, one day off per week, and I delivered within a 5-6 km radius. But that has changed. I had to do about 30 orders a day. I was earning around ₹1,500 a day but was paying ₹300-400 for fuel,” he said.

In 2020, the salary was attractive and he did around 120-130 orders per week and earned around ₹10,000. Like most delivery people at the time, he was paid on a weekly basis, according to the report.

Like Annu, there are others in Delhi and other parts of India who have quit their jobs.

Ajoy Thomas, vice president and business manager (retail, e-commerce, logistics and transport) of staffing firm TeamLease Services, said payments had fallen from a year ago.

“A year ago the payment was up to ₹35 per order. It is below ₹15 now. This is basically done by the big players because paying the delivery manager is one of the highest costs for a company,” he was quoted in the report.

A delivery man from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, explained how difficult the situation had become for him in recent months due to rising petrol prices.

“I made food deliveries even before Covid arrived in the country. It was a good job. However, after Covid it became more difficult. But now it has become even more difficult after witnessing this sharp rise in gasoline prices. I don’t know when my company will increase incentives,” said Gopal Yadav India time.

Another person, who works in the courier delivery service, said they were also feeling the pinch of high fuel costs. “I have been in the courier delivery service for 10 years. However, the steady rise in gas prices has ruined my entire budget. I don’t know how to survive with such a steady climb. My salary is fixed and leading a family in such a situation is a huge challenge,” Rakesh Gupta told the newspaper.

In Kochi, a Bihar native said he was forced to do the delivery gig as he had no other choice, according to a report on New Indian Express.

“Every day I have to fill up to three liters of gasoline which costs around ₹350. The total monthly fuel expenditure will be around ₹9,000. It was around ₹6,000 last year. For the fuel expenses, we have to get rid of a lot of the income. As it is difficult to find another job here, I am forced to do the delivery job,” Sadak Ansari said.

Another person, who has completed her BTech and is a resident of Kochi, said she now has to walk nearly 300 km to meet her daily goals.

“Every day I have to deliver more than 20 food orders to customers. If we couldn’t do this, our income would be very low. So we are forced to travel 200 to 300 km a day to reach our daily target. If the amount we spent on fuel was around ₹7,000 last year, now we are spending over ₹10,000,” Rakesh said, according to the report.

To overcome fuel costs, some use bicycles in Kerala. “I rented a Kochi Metro bike, which costs only ₹700 per month, to deliver food packets to customers. If I use a motorbike, I will have to spend a lot on fuel,” said Vasudev, originally from Andhra Pradesh, quoted in the report.

In Madurai, a delivery man asked the government when fuel price hikes would stop.

“When will the rise in gasoline prices stop… It seems unstoppable. I can’t increase my income. The gap between my income and my expenses has already widened, so I am looking to switch to e-bikes or a two-wheeler, which are more fuel efficient,” the 26-year-old told The Hindu.

Adding to high fuel costs is the rising price of domestic LPG cylinder, which rose by ₹3.5 on Thursday and now costs over ₹1,000.

Bored Ape sold for x1000 lower price by DailyCoin

Bored Ape sold for x1000 lower price

Not all bored monkeys bring wealth and joy. Some of them come with losses.

An interesting situation appeared this Sunday in the OpenSea market, where Bored Ape #6464 NFT was sold for 200 USDC or $200. Shortly after, the same NFT returned to the market, but with a much higher price of 200 ETH ($407.8K).

Ape #6462 was purchased for USDC 200.0 https://t.co/u3lQymdO1B

— boredapebot (@boredapebot) May 15, 2022

Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC) is one of the most famous and expensive NFT collections, with the average floor price of each NFT sitting at 101 ETH ($205,000) at the time of writing.

Despite this, Bored Ape #6462 ranks as the rarest 209 NFT in the entire 10,000 BAYC collection. He comes with a mix of the rarest BAYC attributes which include pizza, police motorcycle helmet and bone necklace.

And even last May, the same NFT was sold for no less than 2.4 ETH ($7.8,000) just days after it was minted.

Therefore, the unusually low price of Ape with such a rare bottom surprised the crypto community. Some of them offered the version of a fatal error when the seller accepted USDC instead of ETH. Meanwhile, another part of the crypto community suspected that the low value trade was not accidental and implemented in order to evade taxes.

Tax evasion 101. Both accounts have nothing in their wallet, offers accepted Within 3 minutes of signing up

— Jonathan (@Jon_Metavest) May 15, 2022

All Bored Ape NFTs are minted on the blockchain, which is a public, immutable network and all transaction history can be seen.

So, following Opensea records, we can see that Bored Ape #6462 has already been sold 2 times, for 2.14 ETH and 2.4 ETH respectively. Both transactions were made in May 2021. Since then, Bored Ape NFT has migrated between different NFT wallets, but with no money involved.

However, the latest wallet-to-wallet transfer appeared on Sunday, May 15. Just seconds after receiving the Bored Ape NFT, it was sold for an outrageous 200 USDC. The mysterious buyer registered on OpenSea just days before the sale. The unusual activity of the NFT seller and buyer raised suspicions of tax evasion attempts.

The IRS wants to collect taxes on NFTs

In 2021, the NFT market has skyrocketed to become an extremely trending market worth $44 billion. As a result, the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has declared that NFTs could become vehicles for tax avoidance and thus established the rules that every collector of NFTs must report their NFT transactions for tax purposes.

Tax experts have agreed that profits generated from each NFT sold on the open market should be considered ordinary income and taxed at the ordinary income tax rate, which fluctuates between 10% and 37%. The same tax rate applies to fiat and digital currencies.

What price will the candidates pay to get out of the Pennsylvania primaries?

Pennsylvania’s Republican primary races for governor and U.S. Senate have been tough affairs, with infighting between fields crowded with GOP candidates and millions of dollars poured in to fund a barrage of attack ads.

On the Democratic side, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman has built a sizable lead in the polls in the party’s primary race for the U.S. Senate, but opponents have launched attacks that Republicans believe will adopt and use against him. Attorney General Josh Shapiro, unopposed in the Democratic primary race for governor, will come out of the primary relatively unscathed and without having to dip too deep into his campaign funds.

These different paths to party nominations could change the dynamics of the general election in the fall, experts say.

Veteran political consultant Christopher Nicholas said the infighting has helped less traditional candidates rise in the polls, but those candidates may find it harder to win in the general election, where attracting more moderate voters could be key to winning. victory because they “have opinions that are far outside the norm of their respective parties.

“It will make for a fun general election,” Nicholas said, “but the Democrats have to win independents, and on the Republican side, they have to bring in some Democrats.”

Millions of dollars were poured in and Pennsylvanians were bludgeoned by attack ads against two Republican Senate candidates: TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz and former hedge fund CEO Dave McCormick. This created an opening for conservative commentator Kathy Barnette to rise in the polls, which, in turn, led Republican influencers such as former President Trump to criticize Barnette in the final week of the race.

The GOP governor’s primary had nine candidates until the final days of the campaign, when State Senator Jake Corman and former U.S. Representative Melissa Hart dropped out and threw their support behind former U.S. Representative Lou Barletta of Hazelton.

The crowded field led to the challengers feuding among themselves, with GOP leaders staying largely out of the fray. Experts said it gave far-right candidate Doug Mastriano a path to establish a lead in the polls, followed by Barletta, former U.S. Attorney Bill McSwain and former Delaware County Councilman David White.

In-party attacks come in a cycle with a lot at stake for both sides. The outcome of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race could determine who controls the upper house in 2023. And Republicans have a rare opportunity for a trifecta in state government if they secure the governor’s mansion.

Usually, in such important races, the hard knocks are reserved for the general election campaign, as the parties want to avoid hurting a candidate they will have to support in the fall.

As such, this contentious primary has political and campaign pundits agreeing that a general election is going to be a tougher lift, especially among Republicans.

“It’s a good strategy in a midterm primary but a bad strategy in a general election,” said Alison Dagnes, professor of political science at the University of Shippensburg. “It works great with the base but not when you’re trying to get 50% plus one vote you need overall.”

GOP race for the US Senate

Ad tracker Medium Buying said the Republican Senate primary drew more than $53 million in TV and radio ads. Most of these ads were from Oz and McCormick, with Oz trying to link McCormick to investments his former hedge fund made in China and McCormick trying to paint Oz as a fake conservative who supports abortion and gun restrictions. fire.

Those attacks hurt two candidates who otherwise look like general election candidates and advanced the idea that McCormick and Oz are superficial, Dagnes said.

“Nobody believes Dave McCormick rides a motorcycle,” Dagnes said, referring to one of McCormick’s commercials. “It feels inauthentic, and Oz also feels inauthentic.”

As these two candidates criticize each other, Dagnes said, it has created a vacuum for Barnette to rise in the polls. A Trafalgar Group poll released last week had Barnette at 23%, just behind Oz at 25% and ahead of McCormick at 22%. The poll’s margin of error was 3%.

Barnette’s push led many in the GOP, including Trump, to try to discredit her. Barnette’s background was largely ignored during the race, but his push has resurrected some of his past statements, including homophobic tweets and past criticism of Trump when he was a presidential candidate in 2016.

Trump released a statement on Thursday saying Barnette “can never win a general election” and that Oz has the best chance of winning in the fall.

Duquesne University political science professor Lew Irwin said authenticity is what Republican primary voters are looking for, but in a general election, a cross-call is needed.

He said suburban voters in Allegheny County and Philadelphia are the ones who will decide the election because, numerically, that’s where the most voters live. Although Allegheny County reliably voted Democratic, it provided more votes for Trump in 2020 than any county in the state.

“The problem for the candidates is appealing to those suburban Republican voters who are going to decide the outcome in the fall,” Irwin said.

GOP gubernatorial race

Another potential issue for Republicans plays out in the GOP race for governor, though it has garnered less attention than the high-profile Senate race.

With less attention, there was less involvement from Republican leaders and the field remained crowded. Dagnes said the more traditional Republican candidates in the field had split support, bolstering support for the most far-right candidate in the field, Mastriano, a state senator from Franklin County. Some have criticized Mastriano for his ties to far-right groups affiliated with the QAnon conspiracy theory, and he was subpoenaed by Congress in connection with the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill.

Irwin said whichever GOP candidate emerges from the primary will likely have to move to the center on some issues to appeal to swing voters.

Dagnes said it would be more difficult for more conservative candidates such as Mastriano and Barnette to move to the center because it could chill support from hardline conservatives and appear inauthentic among the suburban moderates they are trying to win over.

“It is possible that two of the more extreme candidates will win, Mastriano and Barnette, and the pivot to the middle is not going to come easily by these two candidates,” she said.

Democratic Races

Fetterman led throughout the Democratic Senate race, despite multiple attacks from his two main opponents, U.S. Representative Conor Lamb of Mount Lebanon and Philadelphia State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta.

Both criticized an episode in which Fetterman, shotgun in hand, confronted a black jogger he suspected of being involved in nearby shootings. Lamb also tried to make Fetterman a socialist.

Irwin said the attacks haven’t gained much traction in the Democratic race. The latest Franklin & Marshall College poll has Fetterman, the former mayor of Braddock, up 39 percentage points. Fetterman appears to have capitalized on his successful run for lieutenant governor in 2018 and used the office to gain exposure among voters, Irwin said.

Fetterman has also raised the most money and spent by far the most on ads of any Democratic candidate.

If Fetterman wins the Democratic nomination, Irwin expects Republicans to attack him and try to label him a socialist or too liberal for Pennsylvania. The effectiveness of this approach depends on who the GOP nominee is, he said.

If the GOP nominee can’t genuinely move to the center and focus the race on inflation, gas prices and a return to post-pandemic normalcy, instead of voter fraud allegations, then Fetterman will likely benefit, Irwin said.

“The real battleground is for the 5% to 10% of the electorate who can really go either way,” Irwin said.

Meanwhile, Shapiro, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate, was unopposed in the primary, allowing him to stay focused on many of the general election-related topics Irwin mentioned.

Dagnes said Shapiro’s vulnerability depends on who the GOP nominee is because he has yet to face many attacks. She said a candidate like Barletta, seen as more moderate than Mastriano, could cause her more problems in a general election.

Shapiro seems to think the same way. Last week he published a announcement essentially stimulating Mastriano comparing him to Trump. The ad highlights Mastriano’s role in drafting a “heartbeat bill” that seeks to ban abortions after about six weeks after conception. He claims Mastriano would also ban abortion, saying Mastriano “wants to end mail-in voting and he led the fight to audit the 2020 election.”

The announcement ends with: “If Mastriano wins, it’s a victory for what Donald Trump stands for.”

5 Low Price-to-Book Stocks to Buy for Great Yields – May 13, 2022

Price over earnings (P/E) and price over sale (P/S) are the first ratios that come to an investor’s mind when finding stocks that are undervalued. The price-to-book ratio (P/B ratio), while underestimated, is also an easy-to-use valuation tool for identifying low-priced stocks with excellent returns.

The P/B ratio is calculated as follows:

P/B ratio = market capitalization / book value of equity

Now let’s understand the concept of book value.

The P/B ratio helps identify low-priced stocks that have high growth prospects. Signet Jewelers Limited (GIS – free report), Vishay Intertechnology (VSH – free report), Group 1 Automotive (PGI – free report), Harley-Davidson (PORK – free report) and TD SYNNEX Corporation (SNX – Free Report) are some of those choices.

Now let’s understand the concept of book value.

What is the book value?

Book value is the total value that would remain, according to the company’s balance sheet, if it went bankrupt immediately. In other words, it’s what shareholders would theoretically receive if a company liquidated all of its assets after settling all of its liabilities.

It is calculated by subtracting the total liabilities from the total assets of a business. In most cases, this equates to common shareholders’ equity on the balance sheet. However, according to the company’s balance sheet, intangible assets must also be subtracted from total assets to determine book value.

Understanding the P/B ratio

By comparing the book value of equity to its market price, we get an idea if a company is undervalued or overvalued. However, like the P/E or P/S ratio, it is always best to compare P/B ratios within industries.

An AP/B ratio of less than one means the stock is trading at a price below its book value, or the stock is undervalued and therefore a good buy. Conversely, a stock with a ratio greater than one can be interpreted as being overvalued or relatively expensive.

For example, a stock with a P/B ratio of 2 means we pay $2 for every $1 of book value. Thus, the higher the P/B, the more expensive the stock.

But there is a caveat. An AP/B ratio of less than one can also mean that the company is getting low or even negative returns on its assets or that the assets are overvalued, in which case the stock should be avoided as it can destroy shareholder value. Conversely, the price of the stock may be significantly high – thereby pushing the P/B ratio to more than one – in the likely event that it has become a buyout target, reason enough to hold the stock. .

Moreover, the P/B ratio is not without limits. It is useful for businesses – like finance, investments, insurance and banking or manufacturing companies – with many liquid/tangible assets on the books. However, this can be misleading for companies with large R&D expenses, high debt, service companies, or those with negative earnings.

In any case, the ratio is not particularly relevant as a stand-alone number. Other ratios such as P/E, P/S and debt/equity should be analyzed before making a reasonable investment decision.

Screening Parameters

Price to Book (common Equity) below the X-Industry median: A lower P/B relative to the industry average implies that there is enough room for the stock to win.

Selling price below median X-Industry: The P/S ratio determines how much the market values each dollar of the company’s sales/revenue – a lower ratio than the industry makes the stock attractive.

Price/earnings ratio using F(1) estimate below industry median X: The P/E (F1) ratio values a company based on its current share price relative to its estimated earnings per share – a lower ratio than the industry is considered better.

PEG less than 1: The PEG relates the P/E ratio to the future growth rate of the company. The PEG ratio gives a more complete picture than the P/E ratio. A value below 1 indicates the stock is undervalued and investors should pay less for a stock that offers good earnings growth prospects.

Current price greater than or equal to $5: They must all trade at a minimum of $5 or more.

Average volume over 20 days greater than or equal to 100,000: Substantial trading volume ensures that the stock is easily tradable.

Zacks rating less than or equal to #2: Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) or 2 (Buy) stocks are known to outperform regardless of the market environment.

LiveWire S2 Del Mar LE Price set at Rs 13.67 Lakhs

livewire-s2-del-mar-le-price The design seems inspired by the Sportster S

After scoops and teasers for months, Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire sub-brand has launched the highly anticipated S2 Del Mar LE e-bike for a price tag of Rs. 13.67 lakhs ($17,699).

Being a limited edition model (read LE), production will be reduced to 100 units and reserved only for the American market from now on. It becomes the second electric bike from the American manufacturer placed under the premium One electric bike already on sale.

livewire-s2-del-mar-le-price-front Two colors – Jasper Gray and Comet Indigo are offered

Designed with inspiration from Harley-Davidson’s Sportster S, the S2 Del Mar LE looks smaller than almost the brand’s entire lineup. Available in 2 colors – Jasper Gray and Comet Indigo, the e-bike features minimalist body panels and LED lighting throughout.

The front gets USD forks while the rear looks simplistic with a Ducati Diavel-style tire fender with license plate and a short fender. The electric motorcycle also receives a conventional chain drive. Spoke alloy wheels look fresh with disc brakes on both ends.

livewire-s2-del-mar-le-price-side-view The Del Mar has a claimed range of 100 km

The battery, which is essentially the chassis, also houses the control unit. The swingarm is an asymmetrical unit to add strength and also to accommodate the large rear sprocket in such a compact size.

Built on the brand’s new Arrow EV modular architecture, like the One, the S2 Del Mar LE’s motor and battery are part of the chassis. The rear monoshock is bolted directly to the battery while the swingarm and front fork axles are also connected there.

livewire-s2-del-mar-le-price-ride The electric could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds

This configuration not only makes the overall bike compact, but also contributes to a significant weight reduction. The Del Mar tips the scales at 197 kg.

Although LiveWire did not reveal engine specs, it did claim that the bike will produce over 80 HP with a 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds. The claimed range, however, is a bit low at 100km. The Del Mar supports Level 1 and 2 charging.

LiveWire plans to introduce more such e-bikes in the near future under the “S” label and they could also be bound for India.

livewire-s2-del-mar-le-price-rear The rear gets Ducati Diavel like a tire fender

Just over a few months ago, Harley-Davidson dropped the “LiveWire” name from its only naked electric street, LiveWire One, and named its new electric-only sub-brand with the same name. Thus, LiveWire is now a separate entity under Harley-Davidson.

LiveWire’s One, when launched, had a price tag of around Rs. 23 million. Now, it holds a price tag of Rs. 17 million.
